A Sunridge Modern RETREAT in Park CITY, UTAH
This sun-filled house is designed to reflect our client’s aesthetic and lifestyle. The project began with the discovery of the Schumacher fabric on the two small ottomans in the living room. This pattern and color palette became the cornerstone for the overall design and color scheme on the main floor. This thoughtful choice reflects the abundance of blue sky seen through the home’s oversized window. Despite the small size of the pattern of the Schumacher fabric, we carried the linear theme into the kitchen and dining room. Note the vertical wood-slated walnut cupboard and the grid-like pattern on the dining room chairs. Although the first floor is an open floor plan, a distinct identity was given to each area. This was achieved through the strategic placement of artwork, as well as the sizes and locations of area rugs.
In the downstairs living area, a warmer color palette was used to reflect the colors of the earth and stone that is seen through the windows. For this space, the anchor fabric is the Larsen choice seen on the chair. This playful pattern and velvety texture are great juxtapositions to the sleek, concrete floors. This fabric is also a mid-century design which adds a touch of nostalgia, while the concrete floors and smooth surfaced barn door ground the space with a modern edge.
Each room tells a story in this house with carefully chosen pieces that resonate with the client’s aesthetic. The guest rooms reflect the age and needs of the most frequent visitors. The office area offers a work surface for two people and is tucked away just enough from the living space. The kitchen allows for large family gatherings and lots of seating at the counter. The blend of old and new, bold and subtle, creates a home that is dynamic and inviting. It's a place where every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure that it is not just a house but a home, reflecting the essence of the people who live there. The result is a design that is as functional as it is beautiful, a true reflection of the client's unique taste and lifestyle.
