YOU HIRED AN INTERIOR DESIGNER? NOW WHAT…

Transforming a design concept into a beautifully realized space is no small feat. It involves careful planning, meticulous execution, and a keen eye for detail. While some may choose to embark on this journey alone, many find that partnering with a professional interior designer can make all the difference.

At Williams Metcalf Interiors, we understand the complexities of turning design dreams into reality, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Here’s how hiring an interior designer can help you bring your vision to life with confidence and ease.

Vision

One of the first and most crucial steps in any design project is defining your vision. Interior designers are experts in helping you articulate and refine your ideas, ensuring that your design goals are clear and achievable.

  • Initial Consultation: Our process begins with a comprehensive consultation to understand your style, preferences, and needs. We will dive into your vision, functional needs, and any specific challenges you might encounter. Expect plenty of questions from us—just when you think you have answered them all, we might have a few more to ask!

We often find that clients have a hard time defining their vision. That is where having a designer can be incredibly helpful. We are skilled at identifying patterns in the elements you are drawn to and guiding you away from choices that do not quite fit for your style and budget. Rest assured, if your vision is not fully formed yet, we do not need a complete picture to get started. At Williams Metcalf Interiors, we just need a bit of insight to begin shaping your concept and moving forward with the design process.

  • Concept Development: Using the insights gathered, we create a cohesive design concept that aligns with your vision. This includes mood boards, color palettes, and preliminary layouts that help visualize how your ideas will come together.

Detailed Plans

At this point once your vision is defined, our team at Williams Metcalf Interiors meticulously translates your ideas into a detailed design plan. This is where we dive into the nitty-gritty of design, focusing on every detail to bring the concept development to life. This phase involves a range of tasks, all aimed at ensuring that every aspect of your project is thoughtfully considered.

  • Detailed Design: We develop detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings to provide a clear picture of how your space will look. This step is essential for visualizing the final result and making informed decisions about materials and furnishings. It is one of our favorite stages because it allows us to creatively bring your vision to life. Typically, the initial renderings are a starting point and may require adjustments. If we get everything right on the first try, we’re pleasantly surprised! Also, who does not love seeing the room in 3D with the exact style of sofa with the specific fabric?

  • Material and Furniture Selection: At WMI, we carefully curate a selection of materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with your style and functional requirements while staying mindful of your budget. We manage the sourcing and procurement to ensure that every choice enhances the overall design. Instead of presenting just one option, we offer a range of carefully selected products, allowing you to make the final decisions and truly personalize your design.

Execution

Executing a design plan requires meticulous coordination of all project aspects, from construction to installation. Job site visits are crucial for achieving the successful completion of your design project. When you hire an interior designer, you gain a dedicated professional who manages these details, ensuring a smooth and stress-free process.

Deer Valley site visit... the progress is REAL!

  • Project Coordination: We oversee the coordination of contractors, suppliers, and other professionals involved in your project. This includes scheduling, managing timelines, and ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards.

  • Quality Control: Our team performs regular site visits to oversee progress and resolve any issues that may come up. We ensure that every aspect of the design is executed as planned, upholding a high standard of quality throughout the process. Plus, these visits give us a chance to step away from our desks and enjoy the scenic beauty of Park City. After the site visits, you’ll often find us grabbing lunch at one of our favorite spots. We are looking at you Saltbox or Five5eeds.

Finishing Touches

With the major elements of your design in place, it’s time to focus on the finishing touches that make your space truly unique. Our interior designers excel at adding the final details that elevate your design from good to exceptional.

  • Styling: We carefully style your space by arranging furniture, hanging artwork, and selecting decor items that enhance the overall aesthetic. Our goal is to create a cohesive and polished look that reflects your personal taste.

Enjoying Your Space

Once the project is complete, it is time to enjoy the results. At Williams Metcalf Interiors, we believe that the true success of a design project lies in how well it enhances your daily life. This phase is bittersweet for us, as we transition from being a part of our clients' lives almost daily to no longer seeing or talking to them regularly. We take great pride in delivering a space that not only meets but exceeds your expectations. Enjoy the comfort and beauty of your newly designed home, knowing that every detail was crafted with utmost care and expertise.

  • Ongoing Support: Our commitment to you does not end with the completion of the project. We provide ongoing support and advice to help you maintain and evolve your space as your needs and tastes change. We are always excited to hear from you again when it’s time to start the next phase! Once you have worked with us, we look forward to collaborating with you on future projects.
